The Mekki's Disc Cutter set is designed for many years of reliable use. The hardened steel set is precision machined. The punches are designed to completely clear the die on a cut. The punches themselves have a 7-degree cutting angle. This creates a sheering action that reduces the cutting stresses and produces much cleaner cutouts. The metal hold down feature restricts any movement of your metal, by firmly holding it in place. The adjusting height knob is simple to open & close. It is designed not to get in the way when you are using the cutter.
The measurements are laser engraved onto the disc cutter in both MM & IN. Inches: 1/8", 3/16, 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16, 5/8", 11/16, 3/4", 13/16, 7/8" & 1". Metric: 3mm, 4.75mm, 6.35mm, 8mm, 9.5mm, 11mm, 12.7mm, 14.3mm, 16mm, 17mm, 19mm, 20.6mm, 22mm & 25mm. The Urethane pad is for use under the disk cutter to help absorb the blow from the hammer and protect the ends of the punches when they go through.
IMPORTANT: Always position a shim of the same thickness of the metal being cut directly across from the metal in the disc cutter block. This keeps the plates balanced and helps ensure a nice clean cut.
